Tate Modern’s Theatre Picasso explores the artist’s love of performance — from dancers to stage designs — but despite striking works like The Three Dancers and Weeping Woman, the exhibition feels more like a patchwork than a story. Picasso’s ego takes centre stage, and while there’s plenty to admire, it never quite stirs the heart the way the 2002 Matisse–Picasso show once did.

Gasosian are staging an amazing debut solo exhibition by Ghanaian artist Amoako Boafo. These works are large, striking and incredibly textured, well worth a view.
