Close-up of a blonde woman with red lipstick against a pale blue wall, surrounded by lipstick kiss prints, looking surprised.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A joy to behold.

This one woman show by Alex Franklin about her fully embracing her transformation into a trans woman and her journey into dating.

Alex (half Chinese) started hormone treatment aged 25, in her words “while dweets and dorks are claiming that being trans makes you icky and gross” she will expose the truth that in fact it makes you really really hot.

Embracing different mediums, songs, creative PowerPoint, audience comedy and storytelling Alex rollercoasters her way through this tight pack hour of mirth and still taking on the awful abuse she regularly receives, responding in the most brilliant , poignant and hilarious way possible, fully embracing who she is.

Alex is a talented comedic song writer and pianist. Here she sings about beavers (the animal) the state of the world today and women in a well observed and quirky style.

This is show with a very high rate of one liners and silliness with ad libs where we can almost hear her inner monologue pouring out to the delight of the audience. Halfway through the show we saw a strange man presented her with a hat, this made for an hilariously couple of minutes.  There are some good one liner  (a lesbian joke that was my favorite of the Fringe!) as well as “immature” humour (if anyone knows what a Suppdog is they will know what I mean!)

Mischievous, heartwarming and very very  funny.

I highly recommend this roller-coaster of silliness
