Red-haired person with green monster face paint presses hands to cheeks against a purple background, looking intense and dramatic

★★★★

Subversive, imaginative, vulgar, bold, creative and cartoonish, yet enduring, thoughtful and importantly very funny!

A Fringe late night treat!

Go and see what the Fringe does the best!

Fanny Bleach (Emma Crowley-Bennett) presents us with a plethora of different sketches each with bizarre and freakish characters in a fast moving and hysterical show. Think of a Mighty Boosh does the fast show on steroids.

A work experience young man, Daniel introduces each new character.

Without spoiling the surprises some of the characters include:

  • A singing stripping Bag Hag,

  • One Tit Wanda, one absolutely enormous breasted woman and a mystery surrounding her last 16 husbands. It caught me off guard and I absolutely hooted!

  • Hairy Mary, an artist’s model with an extreme and extremely unusual talent and anxiety. This includes some clever and creative use of audience participation.

  • Marie Rose, a “prawn star” along with an “erotic” video of Marie “preparing” in the bath

Add in a rousing ending, and the time absolutely flew by!

Some of the ideas are just fantastic; some may be more fleshed out than others, but there are so many original ideas there are many more hits than misses.

There is a lot of talent and creativity here with well-done characterization and costumes.

I found the whole thing enduring, subversive and importantly very funny.

It's well worth going if you want to get away from the run of the mill comedy and experience something original that you definitely talk about in the bar afterwards
