A Character Comedy Ordeal (in a good way!)

An accomplished solo debut comedy show that's full of cringe and pathos in equal measure.

Rob Preston has questions! “How can we sort things out?" "How can we make things better overall?" "How can we put aside our differences and become best friends globally?” I'm not sure we left with any answers, but we definitely left with a broad smile and another highly recommended Fringe show on our list!

Rob embodies various male characters including the strangest pub quizmaster, a speaker at a south African conference for jobless teenagers, a dancing barber, Silvian who is trying to get the youth back in to sex, and a very funny audition tape.

Our favorites were a young Yardman Londoner with relatives including Gordons Browns Cabinet, as well as Cath Kidson, and a “writer of stories” who says things like “You know I read 1984, it's very Orwellian.”

Throwing typical tired male stereotypes and tropes out the window, Robs delivers an imaginative, fresh and freakish take on modern man alongside belly laughs and cringes in equal measure. an audience that clapped and sang Rob off stage at the end.

Apparently, many of his caricatures are based on snippets of things he has seen or heard, either in real life or on social media. Rob has skillfully taken these fragments and conjured up an hour we will not forget for a long time.

Go see him now before he has his own award-winning TV show.
