dward J Moore’s The Seahorse remains strikingly relevant, exploring a tempestuous relationship in a claustrophobic seafront bar. Seaman Harry Bales seeks permanence with Gertrude Blum, a guarded bar owner, igniting a tense battle of control. Through raw dialogue and physical intensity, the play reveals vulnerability amid passion and conflict, leaving audiences captivated by its emotional currents. On at the Golden Gosse Theatre noe.

James McGregor delivers a magnetic performance, though the script’s emotional punch occasionally falters. Visually striking and thematically rich, it’s imperfect—but compelling.

A play that contains both anguish and hope, a moving experience of dealing with grief and relationships after loss. 4 stars from us.

Tapping into the current rise in extreme right wing British nationalism and the flag waving this 2 actor play 'English Kings killing Foreigners' is timely and rightly challenging. 

Really good Exposure Written and performed by Megan Prescott Important and Courageous, this needs everyone's attention now. Exceptional!

If you’ve ever found Shakespeare confusing, this whip-smart, laugh-out-loud adaptation of A Midsummer Night’s Dream is your gateway to the magic. Set in a giant playroom in the early 1900s, a group of kids stage a play full of fairies, love potions, and chaos — all for their elderly relative (and some iced buns 🍩). 🎭 Shakespearean English meets modern clarity as the kids break character to explain the plot, argue over fairies vs. fights, and even rope in the audience.

A heartfelt performance meets a cautious production. Lehla Eldridge shines as Justine—a woman torn between routine and rebellion—but the show’s over-reliance on narration and minimal staging holds it back. Urgent themes, gentle delivery. Worth seeing, but you might wish it took more risks

In the shadowy basement of The Glitch, The Popess brings 13th-century Milan roaring into today. Elena Mazzon’s one-woman show is sharp, funny and surprisingly moving — with audience banter, awkward hymn-singing (not my forte), and questions that linger: what does faith bring you, and what would you die for?

We laughed, we danced, we did the Time Warp – and yes, we dressed up (though not quite as fabulously as the die-hard fans in corsets and glitter). Rocky Horror at Fairfield Halls is a riot of colour, camp and chaos, and Nathan Caton’s cheeky banter with the crowd, including insulting Croydon, made it feel like a party from start to finish.”

Stale Cake is the debut theatrical work of Gabrielle Hofmann, and if this startling opening salvo is anything by which to go, then we might just expect more fireworks from this writer in the not-too-distant future - there is great potential here.

To MARS is our view the perfect introduction to theatre for very young people. our 8 and 10 year old reviewers loved the show. Highly recommended.
